The end of the day is near. Tiredness is taking over as I sit in a parking lot waiting on my daughter’s dance class to finish. I had the best intentions to do my gratitudes through out the day, but it just didn’t turn out that way.
So here I sit tapping away on my phone, as the unsecured wireless gods aren’t smiling on me this evening.
Things I am grateful for today:
– Happy kids
– Sunny drive home on flower lined street.
– Warmish weather that lets me sit on the car without freezing my butt off.
– A busy day at the office.
– My nice cozy bed awaiting me.
– A cell phone that has internet access and great apps 😀
– The Blend playing on the car radio. They are playing the best music tonight.
– The 1/2 hour I get to read in peace after I post this entry. 🙂
And with that, until tomorrow!
I am oh so grateful that our vet has a special deal where you can bring your dogs in for a wash and dry with nail clipping and ear cleaning for under $35 a dog. Lulu and Sophie are almost 70 pounds a piece so wrangling them into a bath tub just isn’t feasible. I can remember when they last had a bath but I have been smelling them from across the room for a while now. 😀 No puppy cuddling going on because they were just too smelly.
We dropped them off at the vet this morning and I spent the morning washing all their bedding. No use getting them all clean if they are just going to come home and roll all over their stinky stuff.
They are now home all shiny and nice smelling. I sure hope that it stays that way for a while. 😀

Today I am grateful for the natural cycle of emotions. Not sure what was up for the last couple of days, but today I am feeling SOO much better and happier all around.
Along with happier, I was eager to get my steps in today. My goal was 10,000 in a day and so far I am up to 11,500. I am grateful for my large house that allowed me to rack up the steps as I marched circles around it 😀 I am also grateful that my FitBit tracks my time on the elliptical as steps as well. All these steps were racked up all indoors – so happy for that as it was a bit to nippy to do my normal outdoor walking.

This week, our microwave, in the kitchen, decided it had had enough and decided to die on us. You don’t know how much you actually use something until it isn’t available anymore. This morning, a gentleman, who worked on our kitchen remodel a couple of years ago, made a special visit out to see us. Unfortunately, the microwave was basically encased so we couldn’t easily replace it on our own. I appreciate that he took considerable care as he removed the molding and replaced the old microwave with the new one. He’s a great guy and was a pleasure to have visiting us. It was also a bonus that he noticed that I had lost a considerable amount of weight since he was here last. 🙂 His comment actually helped me re-commitment to Weight Watchers to lose the last 20 or so pounds I need to go. It worked for me back then, and will for this bit, especially now that I have the exercise part under control.
Once I decided to get back on the WW wagon again, hubby and I went back through our menu. He was nosing through the freezer to see what we had that would be appropriate. He came across some mystery food that had been in there WAY too long. The picture above is from the freezer burn that was on some oatmeal I made over 6 months ago. (It’s now gone LOL) I so appreciated that intricacy of the crystal formations that I had to try and capture them on film. The picture doesn’t do the amazing-ness of it as well as seeing it in person, but you get the idea of what it was like. 😉 Be sure to click on the picture to see it full sized!
